µç³µÊÓƵ

Sport

µç³µÊÓƵ School is well known for its involvement in sport and nurturing sporting talent. Many professional sportsmen are Old µç³µÊÓƵians who honed their talents on µç³µÊÓƵ’s fields and in the PSA interschool competitions.

µç³µÊÓƵ caters for every sporting ability, with a focus on participation and sportsmanship. All students participate in interhouse sport throughout the year, competing with and against their peers.

Interschool sport takes place once a week and is compulsory for all students from Years 5 to 9. There are multiple levels to allow all boys to participate in their chosen sport. In Years 10 to 12, PSA sport is optional at µç³µÊÓƵ. However, µç³µÊÓƵ’s success across many sports shows the passion of our boys to keep playing. In 2019, µç³µÊÓƵ School teams proudly took out the premierships for cricket, volleyball, badminton, soccer, football and hockey – a PSA record season.

During the summer season (Terms 1 and 4), students can participate in basketball, cricket, rowing, swimming, tennis, volleyball and water polo, as well as one-day events such as surfing and golf. During the winter season (Terms 2 and 3), boys compete in badminton, cross country, football, hockey, rugby, soccer and athletics.

µç³µÊÓƵ is fortunate and proud to be able to host most of our sporting fixtures on our own grounds. Our boys can walk straight from the classroom to our expansive, world-class sporting facilities and, as a result, training time is maximised.

Having our own staff as the primary source of coaches also distinguishes our Sport programme. The multi-dimensional relationships formed between staff and students is a bedrock of µç³µÊÓƵ School and allows staff and students to interact in a different environment outside the classroom.

Weekly PSA fixtures, team selections, results and further information on sport at µç³µÊÓƵ are available on the µç³µÊÓƵ Sport website

µç³µÊÓƵ Sports Podcasts

During COVID-19, when our students did online learning from home, we were very aware that co-curricular was one of the things the boys missed the most. So one of the initiatives we came up with was a series of sport podcasts, where Year 12 students interviewed notable sporting identities. It came to take on a life of its own and gained some media notoriety in its own right. Below you can access the interviews for your listening pleasure.
